Hello! My name is Cherita Brasier, and I am the proud owner of Moon Child Sweets, a home-based bakery located in New Castle, Delaware. My culinary journey began at Hodgson Vocational Technical High School, where I enrolled in the Culinary Arts program. I then continued my education at Johnson & Wales University, earning my Bachelor’s in Baking and Pastry Arts.

After graduating in 2005, I worked at various country clubs and bakeries, gaining invaluable experience. Eventually, I made the exciting decision to venture out on my own and become my own boss.

Baking is not just a profession for me—it’s a true passion. I take great pride in crafting every dessert from scratch. Most of the cakes and treats I offer are made entirely by hand, and I make it a point to avoid using pre-made mixes or components. While I have nothing against them, I simply prefer a more personal, hands-on approach to my creations. I’m always up for a challenge and love tapping into my creative side. Many of my clients trust me to bring their unique ideas to life, and the results are always met with delight!
